Museum and archaelogic excavations in Kamarina – Scoglitti

Short visit – up to 2 hours

The Museum is made out of a nineteenth century millstone. Its several pavilions show the history of the area, from  the earliest settlements dating back to the castelluccio age, to the foundation of the city and the final destruction by the Romans.

The first pavilion is dedicated to the underwater archaeology, here you can admire underwater findings from the Bay of Camarina. The archaeological park all around the museum shows vestiges of the old Greek city: the Agora, the house of the altar and the temple of Athena.
